New Product - Gas Tank Stamp Stencil
GM Gas Tank Stencil. United States Steel made the
sheet metal for gas tanks before they were stamped into parts. All the metal was
ink stamped. Over 35 years this stamp has worn off or is covered with
undercoating. The stamp can be located anywhere on the tank facing 0, 90 or 180
degrees. Put this stencil on the tank, spray paint over it and pull off the
stencil. These are most common in black but we have also seen light-med blue. If
you are after a first place car, this is the added edge. This is another Inline
Tube exclusive item and was used on all GM tanks.

GM Tank Notes:
EEC is fuel emission. The fuel emission line runs from the back of
the car to a black charcoal canister usually located in the front of the car. Fuel emission
started in California in 1970 and in 1971 for the rest of the country. So, all
1970 California cars had fuel emissions. Before 1970, the tank had a vent
into the trunk and/or the upper corner of the tank.

Quick Tip - Gas Tanks
When replacing a tank don't forget the sending unit, tank straps, pad and stencil. Check your existing tank for main fuel line diameter, return line, vapor line and any other specific details. One model of a vehicle could have used several different tank configurations.
